The Border League
Welcome to the website of the Border League.
The Border League is based in the Scottish Borders and until 2011 season comprised a 1st XI Saturday League, a Reserve League a Borders 20/20 Competition, administered the South Quailfying Section of Murgitroyd National 20/20 competition and ran a club sixes tournament .
During the winter of 2011 the Senior League was disbanded as teams left to join the Eden Valley League or the East of Scotland Leagues, however the Reserve League has been re-branded as the Border Sunday League and is contested by Gala 2nd XI, Hawick & Wilton Border League XI, Kelso 2nd XI, Langholm 2nd XI, Manderston, Melrose, Penicuik 2nd XI, Selkirk 2nd XI and St.Boswells A.
The Border Club 1st XI’s, Gala, Hawick & Wilton, Kelso, Melrose, Selkirk and St.Boswells still contest the Border 20/20 Cup, and are joined by Dumfries for the Murgitroyd Qualifying tournament, while the sixes include the six Border Clubs plus Biggar and Langholm.
The Border 20/20 Cup is contested by Gala, Hawick & Wilton, Kelso, Melrose, Selkirk and St.Boswells with teams playing one fixture against every other team in a league format with the league winners getting home advantage against the runners-up in the Border 20/20 Final, while the Murgitroyd 20/20 is a knock-out competition.
